Outgoing Leadership Team

The national Leadership Team is your elected volunteer national board. We work in partnership with our affiliated chapters, staff and colleagues across the ABC-USA family to achieve our common mission of "ministers serving ministers." The Team bears fiduciary responsibility for the Ministers Council.

Matthew Sturtevant

PRESIDENT | Matthew Sturtevant

Rev. Dr. Matthew Sturtevant has been the senior pastor at the First Baptist Church of Lawrence, Kansas for nearly 13 years, and he has been a member of the Ministers Council of the Central Region for 20. He has served as the President of that local council 2020-2022, including a role on the Board of the ABCCR.

 

Rebecca Driscoll

VICE PRESIDENT | Rebecca Driscoll

Rev. Rebecca Driscoll, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Attleboro, Massachusetts (July 2021–present), TABCOM Minister for Creation Care (April 2021–2023). She is a member of the National Ministers Council and the Conference of Baptist Ministers in Massachusetts (2019–present). She served as intern for AB Women in Ministry on the MC Leadership Team (2019-2021) and as Discernmentarian for the MC Leadership Team (2021-present).

Julio Gonzalez

SECRETARY | Rev. Dr. Julio Gonzalez-Paniagua

Rev. Dr. Julio González-Paniagua is by vocation an educator and musician, and by Lord’s calling, Pastor of the First Spanish Baptist Church of Central Islip, in Long Island, New York. As a musician, composer, arranger, conductor and Liturgy and music workshop leader, he fully participates within the American Baptists in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Latin America. Pastor González has earned a B.A. in Music, a Master in Education, both from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master in Divinity from the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico, and a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University, New Jersey.

Sara Day

TREASURER | Rev. Dr. Sara Day

Sara is an ordained American Baptist Minister. She retired from the Minister and Missionary Benefit Board in 2019. She currently lives in Flagstaff, Arizona with her husband. Sara has served in many different positions in ABC life, including pastorates in Indiana and Ohio, regional staff in Massachusetts, and with MMBB Financial Services.

Sarah Strosahl-Kagi

COORDINATOR OF CHAPTER REPRESENTATIVES | Sarah Strosahl-Kagi

Rev. Sarah Strosahl-Kagi is the pastor of Royersford Baptist Church in Royersford, PA where she has served since September of 2020. Prior to that she worked at American Baptist Home Mission Societies and International Ministries. Sarah is a member of the Valley Forge chapter of Ministers Council, having served on the steering committee in 2015-2016.

Jacki Belile

COORDINATOR OF MEMBERSHIP AND CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT | Rev. Jacki Belile

Rev. Jacki Belile is the founder of Living Well Ministries (2007- present), and pastor at Eden UCC, Chicago, IL (2018 – present), the fourth congregation she has served. She has been a member of the Ministers Council since 1994, serving as the Metro Chicago President (2013-2017) and Secretary/Treasurer (2017 – 2021), and on the MC Leadership Team from 2016 to present. She lives in Chicago with her partner of 35 years.

Lin Story-Bunce

COORDINATOR OF TIM/EIM GRANTS | Pastor Lin Story-Bunce

Lin is the Associate Minister of Youth at College Park Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wake Forest University School of Divinity. Lin is a teacher, preacher, and pastor who has been in ministry at College Park for more than 10 years and has served in leadership capacities within the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Baptist Women in Ministry and the Alliance of Baptists.

Patricia Hernandez

Rev. Dr. Patricia Hernandez
National Director, American Baptist Women in Ministry

Pat began her life in the former Yugoslavia where her parents were missionaries. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago and has her MDiv from Colgate Rochester Divinity School. Pat has a DMin from Central Baptist Theological Seminary. She has pastored churches in New York and Pennsylvania and served the American Baptist Churches of Michigan as the Consultant for Leadership Development.
